President Vokrri along with the Prime Minister Mustafa and Minister Shala visit the area where the National Stadium is going to be built
14 March 2017 – The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, Minister of MCYS, Kujtim Shala, the President of FFK, Fadil Vokri and the Secretary General of the FFK, Eroll Salihu, visited a land parcel in Lower Bërnicë near Prishtina where the national stadium is planned to be built.
The FFK President, Fadil Vokrri briefed the Prime Minister Mustafa and Minister Shala for the efforts the FFK is making for the two football stadiums in Prishtina and Mitrovica. President Vokrri pointed out that the infrastructure needs to be improved. “We managed to remove the security blockade imposed by KFOR for the “Adem Jashari” Stadium in Mitrovica and we are now making preparations to start works on the stadium in order to prepare for international matches and our clubs that qualify for international competitions, have where to play. Along with MCYS, we are going to invest in the “Adem Jashari” Stadium, whereas works Prishtina stadium are going on according to the plan, said Vokrri.
The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Kujtim Shala, said that they are working intensively to improve the situation of sports facilities and infrastructure. “We are now interested the investments in the City Stadium in Prishtina and in the Olympic Stadium “Adem Jashari” go under the foreseen dynamics, so that we manage to finalize those works and our clubs and the national team can play football in Kosovo as scheduled. Together with FFK we are going to invest €1.600.000 in the “Adem Jashari” stadium in Mitrovica and we believe that the stadium will be ready for international matches in these two months and a half,” said Minister Shala.
Seeing closely the place where the national stadium is going to be built, the Prime Minister Mustafa expressed the hope that with the construction of these sports facilities Kosovo will compete not only in the region but in the European Union as well. “We will fulfill all UEFA and FIFA criteria. Sports organizations, citizens, and young people deserve that we give priority to this field and we will do our utmost to ensure funds whether from the budget or from other organizations and countries. There are such financing lines we have explored so far, we can use them to build here the stadium which will meet all FIFA and UEFA requirements, to build more stadiums and facilities that will be interconnected to this object”, said Prime Minister Mustafa.
