Tirana, 8 April 2017 – The “A” National Team of Kosovo in the women’s competition, without six players of the first composition due to a lack of administrative decisions by UEFA and the lack of defense pillar Blerta Kaçiu who was injured in her right knee inthe first match against the National Team of Albania and a poor bench of substitutes, could not afford a strong rival such as Greece, having suffered deep loss at “Selman Stërmasi” stadium in Tirana with 0: 6 within the qualifications for the World Cup “France 2019”. Girls of our national team started the match well and in the beginning of the first half they created some chances to score but missed the coronation. The Greeks were more focused and managed to score the first goal in the 32nd minute of the match through Markou.Just eight minutes later (40th) they scored the second goal through Chatzigianndou. The first half of the match ended with 2: 0. The second half began again with the domination of the Greek national team scoring four other goals: Kakambouiki (52 ‘), Nati (57), Kongouli (76′), Sidira (89’). As in the first match, our national team will come up with a greater experience. The technical staff already has clear advantages and gaps in national team units.
Afërditë Fazliu, the head coach of Kosovo’s National Team said after the match: We knew that we had to deal with a strong opponent like Greece, being considered as the favorites in Group B. We lack players and with this fund of players having no capacity to play two matches in two days, is somewhat difficult to achieve more. It is unbearable for us in these moments. Then the lack of experience made itself. We now have to work hard, increase our numerical and qualitative capacity sand build a structure of a genuine national team. I believe we have the opportunity and hope we will do so in the future.
