19 June 2017 – The champion team of Kosovo, Trepça’89 and the sub-champion, Prishtina learned today their rivals in the historic debut to European competitions, namely the Champions League and the Europa League. The draw cast today at noon at the UEFA HQ in Nion, has placed Trepça’89 in front of the Faroe Islands champion team, Vikingur in the first round of the Champions League pre-eliminatories.
Mitrovicians are going to play the first match as guests on 27 or 28 June, while the return match they are going to play on 4 or 5 July at the “Adem Jashari” Stadium in Mitrovica. In case this rival is eliminated, then the Kosovo champion will face the Icelandic team, Hafnarfjordur in the second round.
Meanwhile, in the first round of the European League, Prishtina will face the 13 times Sweden’s champion and currently ranked second in the Swedish Championship, IFK Norrkoping, after 13 weeks with equal points with Malmo, occupying first place.Prishtina will play the second match as the guest on 29 June, while the return match will be played on 6 July at the “Adem Jashari” stadium in Mitrovica.
