5 September 2017 – Despite the dominance they had especially in the first half of the match and in the second half, boys of Kosovo A National Team did not have the fate to mark a victory so much expected by everyone in the duel with Finland that was played tonight at “Loro Boriqi” Stadium in Shkodra. Perhaps this great desire for victory burned Kosovo footballers. In the first half the Finns scored in the 25th minute through Lam but previously he caused impermited intervention in the attack and the goal was not accepted. Our players continued their strides towards the Finland goal but did not find the way to score.
In the second half, our players again attacked and at 54th minute Valon Berisha shot furiously by head. However, the goalkeeper hardly managed to drive the ball out. Our boys did not stop. Despite some good chances they did not come to score. And when you fail to score comes the penalty and in the 83rd minute, Pukki defeated Ujkani who was unexpectedly good in this match. With all the efforts, Kosovo footballers tried to at least equalize and get a point until the end but the match ended with the victory of the guests.
It should be noted that the support of Dardans was not lacking for a moment during the entire match and after the game giving heart to the Kosovo National Team.
The Head Coach of Kosovo’s National Team, Albert Bunjaku, after the match stressed that this is a painful loss. “I think the draw would be a real epilogue, which was said by my colleague from Finland as well. We had a difficult journey. We had a good game. We tried to balance the game and did some changes in the team. I would wish nothing more in this world than to bring Kosovo a victory. We had very difficult match with Croatia. We did not have enough time for exercise and it is difficult for a team like ours to play two matches in two days” Bunjaku said.
