24 January 2018 – Today in Lausanne was drawn the draw for the UEFA Nations League, a new competition of UEFA, which will begin in September this year and will take place every two years and where all European national teams will participate. The President of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Mr. Fadil Vokrri, the Secretary General, Mr. Eroll Salihu, the National Team A Head Coach, Mr. Muharrem Sahiti and the Manager Bajram Shala were also present at the draw. In the draw Kosovo is included in Group 3 of League D, where it will compete with Azerbaijan, Malta and the Faroe Islands.
The first matches of the UEFA Nations League will take place on 6-8 September this year, while other matches will be played on 9-11 September, 11-13 October, 14-16 October, 15-17 November and 18-20 November. Winners of each group in Leagues B, C and D will secure the transition to a higher league, while the last teams in groups in Leagues A, B and C will fall into a league below.Meanwhile, the winners of the four groups in League A will play the final stage in June 2019, where the first champion of the League of Nations will be known. Meanwhile, for the best teams in the respective groups that do not win tickets for the European Championship through regular qualifying cycle, they will be given an additional opportunity to fight for it through the “Play-off ” stage of the League of Nations that will be played in March of 2020.
