2 March 2018 – The Football Federation of Kosovo held today its regular Assembly meeting at the Emerald Hotel in Prishtina. Present in the Assembly meeting were 56 out of 59 delegates. Among the guests were also the UEFA representative, Thierry Favre, Minister of Sports, Kujtim Gashi, Secretary General of the Albanian Football Federation, Ilir Shulku, Vice-President of the Macedonian Football Federation, Muhamet Sejdini, President of Kosovo Olympic Committee, Besim Hasani, etc.
Speaking to the attendees, the Minister of Sports, Kujtim Gashi, Thierry Favre and Ilir Shulku praised the FFK for the work done since the last Assembly meeting, wishing them to continue the work in the future period at this pace.
Meanwhile, in his speech to delegates, the FFK President, Fadil Vokrri said that in the period between the two Assembly meetings, football was not only at the attention of the sporting public, but also to all the Kosovars, as a result of the rice of interesting race inVala Super League, then featuring the national teams at international competitions and finalizing the works at the Prishtina Stadium, a stadium of hope, which is an investment of the Kosovo Government. Further, President Vokrri asked the clubs to continue to work much harder in all aspects so that the interest in football is even greater and at the same time increases the quality of the game and the competitions.
Investment in infrastructure is the main focus of FFK in the upcoming period, President Vokrri said. As a result of continuous work with the Ministry, in June we will have ready the stadium in the capital that will meet all UEFA requirements, while in parallel we have worked to start construction of 12 synthetic grass fields where six of them will be funded directly by FFK. Another investment will be the Sports Complex in Obiliq, center that creates opportunities and facilities for the preparation of national teams. Of course, our main goal is the construction of the National Stadium, which will be supported by the Government. FFK will continue with this policy of improving sports infrastructure in close cooperation with the Government and local governments.
Therefore, I promise you that we will continue to work at these rhythms in the coming period so that we can raise our football to higher levels, Vokrri added.
During the proceedings of this Assembly meeting, the minutes of the previous Assembly meeting, the Business Report, the Report of the Competition and the Financial Report were approved by the absolute majority of votes. In addition, the Assembly adopted several submissions and appeals, accepted new clubs in the FFK family, and the request of the delegates became the amendment of the FFK Statute, where the persons in the executive policy bodies and other legislative enforcement bodies shall not be allowed to run for members of the FFK Executive Committee in order to harmonize the FFK Statute with the Statute of UEFA.
