3 March 2018 – Semifinal matches of the 9th edition of “Adem Jashari” International Tournament in futsal organized by the Football Federation of Kosovo were played today at the Palace of Youth in Prishtina. The tournament was announced open by the President of FFK, Fadil Vokrri who emphasized the importance of futsal and the tremendous development this sport has made in Kosovo over the decade. Furthermore, the President wished the participant teams success and correct game while stated that this tournament coincides with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of futsal in Kosovo and the independence of Kosovo. The first match was played by Kosovo U21 and Macedonia U21 where in the end, Macedonia enjoyed the win with 4:1 after an interesting match. The Kosovo youngsters for whom this gathering was the first one as a team, they played very well in the first half and managed to go on break leading with one goal, scored by Bardh Kelmendi in the 13th minute. Nevertheless, the experience and quality of the Macedonian team came into expression who managed to overthrow the score with the goals scored by Zoran Levevski (26’), Martin Todojevski (32’) and Taulant Ismajli (34’, 39’).
A more interesting, more quality and more rivaling match was played between Kosovo and Albania national teams where the finalist was determined only after the additional time. Kosovo initiated the match very well and took the lead already in the 1st minute with the goal scored by Jeton Rukovci. The lead to 2:0 was increased by Fadil Goli in the 16th minute. However, Albania overthrew the score within two minutes with the goals scored by Mentor Mejzini (19’) and Besnik Rexhepaj (19’, 20’). Then Kosovo scored twice to take the lead through Ramadan Alaj (22’) and Arbër Dobroshi (35’). Albania equalized only after one minute through Besnik Rexhepaj whereas the lead to Kosovo was returned by Fadil Goli in the 38th minute. When it was thought that Kosovo was going to qualify in the finals, nine seconds before the end of the match, red-and-blacks equalized with Narcis Alibegu’s goal. Meanwhile, in the additional time twice, 5 minutes each, Albania scored two goals managing to keep this score to the end, thus going in the finals.
Tomorrow at 1500hrs Kosovo A – Kosovo U21 are going to play the match for the third place, while Albania and Macedonia will play at 1700hrs in the finals.
