8 August 2018 – With a minute of silence in honor of the former President, Fadil Vokrri, a five-day workshop for referees began. The workshop was opened by the Head of the Referees Committee, Përparim Hasani, while in his greeting speech to the attendees, the Secretary General, Eroll Salihu said: “On my name and on behalf of the President of FFK, Mr. Agim Ademi let me wish you a good job. Additionally I thank the FIFA instructor, Mr. Alan Snoddy who has already turned into a friend of ours and who for so many years has made an extraordinary contribution to the professional upgrading of referees by bringing his long experience to you. FFK gives great importance to the professional upgrading of referees as a very important segment of football that greatly influences the running of competitions. I believe and hope that from this workshop you will gain new insights into football rules as well as new changes. Therefore, I wish that during these days that this workshop will last, you will take advantage to get as much knowledge as possible about the referees profession.”
In this workshop are included 45 referees. Lecturers are the best experts in this field such as Mr. Alan Snoddy – FIFA instructor, fitness instructor, Simon Breivik – a fitness trainer of the Premier League Referees. Then lecturer for mental preparation Mr. Ridvan Ekmekci – Professor at Pamukkale University and lecturer Mr. Bekim Zogaj – Assistant Referees of FIFA. So during these five days and by these experts the football referees the attendees will learn the experiences and the measures for the game by hand, changes of rules of the game with video clips, the offside positions and collaboration and teamwork. There will also be FIFA interval tests. Then referees’ education and mental preparation, communication and body language, techniques and methods for preparing a match as well as physical training with fitness. This seminar is welcomed by the Commission and referees to see the level of preparation before the start of the new edition of the competitions.
