9 June 2022 – The National Team of Kosovo achieved the second win within the new edition of the Nations League. Dardanians defeated Northern Ireland on Thursday evening at Fadil Vokrri stadium with 3: 2, within Group 2 of League C. For Kosovo this was the second win in three matches played, whereas the last match of this month will be played in Volos on Sunday against Greece. Dardanians started the match furiously, supported by the fans as they found the lead goal exactly in the 9th minute. It was Vedat Muriqi who scored from the penalty spot, as previously Milot Rashica was prevented inside the 16-meter area by the guest defence. Even after this goal, Kosovo footballers did not stop and created several consecutive chances as they finalized that of the 19th minute when Zymer Berisha scored a beautiful goal after the excellent assistance of Rashica. Although Kosovo dominated the entire first half, in the end a little carelessness in defence cost them a goal. It was the 44th minute when Shayne Lavery scored almost from the goal line with his head. The second half started well for the Dardanians who scored the third goal in the 52nd minute. This time Muriqi scored from close range after Lirim Kastrati arched. In the last minutes, the guests managed to put pressure on Ujkani’s goal and they scored the second goal in the 83rd minute when Daniel Ballard scored with a header. This goal gave the visitors the opportunity to create constant pressure in the remaining minutes but thankfully the figures remain in Kosovo’s favour, 3: 2.
