16 November 2022 – The Kosovo National Team ended the friendly match against Armenia in a draw. The match that was played at Fadil Vokrri stadium ended with 2:2. In this match, Kosovo played mainly with new players who are seen as having potential for the future. The Armenians took the lead first with the goal of the fast-footed Zhirayr Shaghoyan in the 24th minute. He ran almost from the half of the field and finally finished his action. The first half ended with a one-goal lead while the Dardanians equalized with Lirim Kastrati’s goal from the penalty in the 67th minute. The visitors regained the lead in the 82nd minute, through Hovhannes Harutyunya who took advantage of the weak reaction of the defense and beat Bekaj from inside the area. However, in the last breath of the match, Donat Rudhani managed to equalize the numbers to 2:2 with a shot from the 16-meter line, which was deflected by the Armenian defender. At the same time, this was also the final result of this match, in which the head coach Giresse had the opportunity to see the potential of the footballers who are candidates to be part of the National Team in the upcoming matches. Kosovo will play its next friendly against the Faroe Islands on Saturday, which is also the last match for this year.
