22 September 2022 – The Kosovo National Team was defeated in Belfast with 2:1 to Northern Ireland in the penultimate match of this year’s Nations League edition. The match was played in a fiery atmosphere at Windsor Park Stadium, while the game was very interesting and on numerous chances to score by both teams. In the first 45 minutes there were no goals, while Kosovo managed to unlock the result in the 58th minute of the
second half when Vedat Muriqi scored from distance, cheering on hundreds of our compatriots who were in the stadium. Even after that goal, the Dardans had several other chances but did not concrete them. On the other side, in the final minutes Northern Ireland added the pressure towards Arijanet Muric’s goal and managed to overturn the score with goals from Gavin Whyte in the 82nd minute and Josh Magennis with a header in the third minute of extra time. Kosovo playes the closing match of this cycle on Tuesday at Fadil Vokrri stadium where it hosts Cyprus in the last place.
