24 March 2022 – The Kosovo’s National Team started the year 2022 furiously, defeating Burkina Faso with 5: 0. This was the first match of the Dardanians under the leadership of the new head coach Alain Giresse. The match played at Fadil Vokrri stadium started with a minute of silence as a sign of respect and honor for the former of the US Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. Dardanians provided spectacle in this match although Giresse preferred to start the match without some of the starting players. Fidan Aliti started the series of goals in the third minute after Zhegrova’s assist, while 20 minutes later, Astrit Selmani increased the lead after Rashica’s assist. The good game of Dardanians continued in the second half where they scored three more goals. Mërgim Vojvoda scored for 3: 0 in the 53rd minute where Milot Rashica was again the assistant and the latter in the 68th minute he scored an excellent goal. Meanwhile, the final score was decided by Toni Domgjoni in the 75th minute. Goalkeeper Samir Ujkani also had an impressive performance who made several saves firs the Tapsoba’s shot from the penalty spot in the 65th minute. The Super League football player, Lumbardh Dellova also debuted in this match to whom the French coach reserved 20 minutes of play. This is Kosovo’s first win after four losses and two draws. The Dardanians will play their next match on 29 March against Switzerland in Zurich.
