20 December 2019 – As it was the whole year we are leaving behind great for the football in Kosovo, so was the event “Laureates of the Year” that is traditionally organized every year by the Football Federation of Kosovo. Present in this gala evening were many guests, ranging from the Acting Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, Acting Minister of Sports, Kujtim Gashi, DFB Vice-President, Rainer Koch, FFK Honorary Ambassador and close friend from DFB, Rainer Milkoreit, UEFA officials, the Head Coach, Bernard Challandes, managers and officials of sports institutions in the country and other people who have contributed and continue to contribute to the success of FFK and the rapid development of football in Kosovo. Before the start of the awards ceremony, President Agim Ademi, Acting Prime Minister, Haradinaj, Acting Minister of Sports Gashi and friends from DFB, Koch and Milkoret addressed the audience, while the UEFA President, Alexander Ceferin addressed the audience with a video message.

The main prize of this gala evening “Fadil Vokrri” for the Best 2019 Player was awarded to the striker of the Kosovo’s National Team and Fenerbahce player, Vedat Muriqi. He snatched this award in close competition with Milot Rashica and Amir Rrahmani. Vedat was unable to attend this evening due to engagements with his club Fenerbahce, but addressed the crowd with a video message in appreciation of the evaluation he was given. In his absence the FFK President, Agim Ademi and the Acting Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj handed over the award to the Kosovo’s Head Coach, Bernard Challandes.

Meanwhile, in the top 11 of the IPKO Super League with the votes of sports journalists were selected the following players: Goalkeeper: Visar Bekaj: Defender: Armend Thaçi, Përparim Islami, Arber Prekazi, Visar Berisha. Midfielders: Albert Dabiqaj, Arb Manaj, Mendurim Hoti, Blend Baftiu, Xhevdet Shabani. Striker: Kastriot Rexha. The latter won two more awards this evening, the Best Player in the Super League and the Top Scorer of the Year.

Feronikeli was selected the Most Successful Club, the team that represented Kosovo in the Champions League, while the epithet of the Best Coach was given to the former Feronikeli Coach, Zekirija Ramadani. The Best Referee was selected Genc Nuza for the sixth time, whereas the most “fair-play” team was announced Drenica.

The Best Club in the women’s competition was announced KFF Mitrovica, and the Best Player, Kaltrina Biqkaj. The Juniors Best Player award went to KFF Malisheva’s, Fortesa Berisha, while Qerim Shaqiri was honoured for his contribution to the development of women’s football.

The Best Team in futsal was announced Liburn from Gjakova, while the Best Player, Alfred Prençi and the Top Scorer for 2019 was selected Ramadan Alaj.

Meanwhile, the epithet of the Most Distinguished Sports Worker belonged to Fekmi Kongeli.
