6 May 2023 – Drenica is the first team of the Albi Mall Super League of Kosovo that in the next edition will compete in a lower level of competition. The Reds lost the chance to exit the danger zones after Saturday’s loss to Trepça ’89 with 3:1 in the 33rd round.
With three more rounds left to the end of the championship, Drenica is in the last position in the rankings with 23 points and now it is impossible to climb to eighth place, which ensures the barge match. This will be the first time that Drenica will say good-bye to the elite of Kosovo football. Egzon Fazliu (3’), Madi Karamo Fatty (40′), and Rilid Nimani (46′) scored the winning goals for Trepça ‘89 while Osman Mëziu scored the only goal for the Skënderaj Reds.
Meanwhile, in the next match, Dukagjini won 1:0 against Malisheva at the stadium “18 June” in Klina, keeping alive hopes for the third position, which ensures exit to Europe. The Nigerian, Otto John scored the winning goal for Armend Dallku’s team in the 86th minute. After this win, Dukagjini is currently in fourth position with 44 points, 6 points less than Gjilan in the 3rd position. After this defeat, Malisheva remains in seventh position with 39 points.
In the next round, Dukagjini will play against Drenica, while Malisheva will host Prishtina at the “Liman Gegaj” stadium.
