28 June 2019 – The Kosovo’s Champion Team, Feronikeli qualified in the first qualifying phase of the Champions League after defeating Andorra’s champion Santa Coloma that was played tonight in the capital’s stadium “Fadil Vokrri” with 2: 1, in the final match of the pre-qualifying round. This is a historic success for the club from Drenas, since it managed to qualify in the next stage in the debut in European competitions. It was quite difficult for our champion to come to this win because the guests appeared very strong. The guests took the lead first in the 52nd minute with a goal scored by Chus Sosa, with a long shot. However, it seemed that this goal “woke up” Feronikeli’s players who had a much better appearance and managed to overturn the score. Initially, the score was equalized by Mevlan Zeka in the 58th minute with a nice shot from the inside area, while the winning goal and further qualification was made by Kastriot Rexha with a header after an assist by Astrit Fazliu in the minute 86th. Now Ferronikeli will face the Welsh champion the New Saints in the first qualifying phase of the Champions League.
