9 April 2022 – The Kosovo national futsal team achieved its second win within Group C of the 2024 World Cup qualifiers. After the win against Bulgaria last night, Arben Simitçiu’s team also defeated Scotland thus securing qualification for the next Main Round. The match played on Saturday afternoon, in Varna, Bulgaria, ended with 4: 1 in favour of the Dardanians. Drilon Maxharraj was the main protagonist of this match with three goals scored. In fact, Kosovo started the match very well and after three minutes of play took the lead with Drilon Maxharraj’s goal. The same player scored a super goal in the 9th minute. The Scots managed to narrow the lead to 2: 1 in the 14th minute with a goal by Bradley Steedman thus ending the first half. However, in the continuation were again the Dardanians who managed the game well and scored two more goals. Initially, Endrit Hajdini scored in the 28th minute while Drilon Maxharraj completed his ‘Hat-trick’ in the 36th minute. “I am very happy with this win and with the qualification we achieved. Also, I feel good that I contributed with three goals in this match, which I dedicate to our Dardanians fans. Now against Armenia we expect a tough match. “Normally we will play without stress and I hope that we will continue with good performance and close this phase in the first place in the group”, said Maxharraj after the match.
Kosovo plays their last match within this qualifying round on Monday, against Armenia, where it also aims to win although it has already secured further qualification.
