30 August 2019 – Kosovo’s National Team (women) started the qualifying cycle for Euro 2021 in the best possible way. In the opening match of Group A, “Dardans” won by 2: 0. Our girls performed spectacularly throughout the 90 minutes, delighting over 4,000 fans gathered at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in the capital. The score was unlocked by Modesta Uka in the 33rd minute when she shot accurately inside the area to send the ball into the Turkish goal net. This goal encouraged our girls even more who soon scored the second goal. This time it was Liridona Syla who shot the ball into the net for a 2-0 lead when the 39th minute took place. The good game of the Dardans continued in the second half, where besides good defense they appeared very dangerous in attack to successfully complete the first challenge of these eliminators. Kosovo’s opponents in the group also includes the Netherlands (European champions), Russia, Slovenia and Estonia. The next match Dardans will play on 3 September as a guest against Slovenia.
