17 August 2021 – The Football Federation of Kosovo has taken another big step forward inaugurating tonight the advanced technological VAR system in Kosovo football. The inauguration ceremony of this system took place on the eve of the Super Cup match between Prishtina and Llapi at the “Fadil Vokrri” stadium. President Agim Ademi assessed this day as extremely important for our football and the finalization of the VAR project as a great achievement of FFK. He said that the implementation of this project was done in record time, for which, he thanked all those involved in this giant project. “We received today the license from FIFA for the use of VAR. Nine operators and 53 referees have been licensed. 53 matches have been organized so far where this system has been tested. We are the Federation that received the VAR license in the shortest time. We have been working intensively on this project for six months, which is the biggest ever from FFK. We have gained a professional team that will also be in international matches. VAR starts from today’s Super Cup match and will be in Super League matches. Intervention was made in 8 stadiums so that the VAR is applicable. “This project was my idea and I am happy that it is now being finalized”, said President Ademi. A brief presentation of the functioning of the VAR was made before the media.
